How PNC statements are structured

PNC statements are well known for bundling several accounts into one file: a Virtual Wallet statement, for example, can carry your Spend, Reserve, and Growth accounts one after another, each with a full transaction listing under its own account header. Within an account, activity is organized into sections such as Deposits, Banking and Debit Card withdrawals, and Checks, with Date, Description, and Amount columns, and check entries keep their check numbers. Our parser first detects each account header — PNC prints the account nickname and masked account number at the top of each block — and splits the PDF into separate logical statements. Every account is then parsed with section-aware sign handling and reconciled on its own: beginning balance plus that account's transactions must match the ending balance printed for that account, not some blended total across the file. If one account reconciles and another does not, we tell you exactly which one and by how much. The download gives you one clean set of rows per account, which is what QuickBooks and most bookkeeping workflows expect.

What PNC gives you natively

PNC offers CSV and Quicken/QuickBooks downloads of recent account activity from the account page, but as of this writing the window covers recent months only. Anything older is PDF-only, and Virtual Wallet PDFs arrive with all linked accounts in a single file.

Step by step

  1. Sign in at pnc.com and open the account — for Virtual Wallet, any of the linked accounts.
  2. Navigate to Accounts → Statements & Documents and select the statement.
  3. Download the PDF, which may include all linked accounts.
  4. Upload it here — we split linked accounts into separate outputs.
  5. Choose CSV, Excel, or QBO and download the converted file.

PNC conversion FAQ

My PNC Virtual Wallet statement has three accounts in one PDF. What happens?

That is normal for Virtual Wallet — Spend, Reserve, and Growth print in a single file. We split the PDF at each account header and parse and reconcile each account independently. You get one clean output per account, and a problem in one account never hides behind clean totals in another.

Does PNC offer CSV or QBO downloads?

PNC lets you download recent activity in CSV and Quicken/QuickBooks formats from the account page, but the window is limited to recent months as of this writing. Older statements are PDF-only, which is what this converter is built for.

How far back are PNC statements available?

PNC typically keeps several years of statements available online as PDFs. Any of those months converts here, with per-account reconciliation against the ending balance printed in each account's own section.

Does it work for PNC business checking statements?

Yes. PNC business statements use the same sectioned layout — deposits, withdrawals, checks — under one account header. Sign handling and full-statement reconciliation work the same way as on consumer accounts.
