How Capital One statements are structured
Capital One 360 statements use a modern, sparse layout: an account summary box at the top, then activity grouped into sections like Deposits and Withdrawals, each with Date, Description, and Amount columns but no running balance column anywhere on the page. Descriptions are generally short and clean, though ACH entries can wrap, and the statement period appears only in the header. Because there is no printed running balance to lean on, our parser relies on the section structure to set the sign of each amount — money in under Deposits, money out under Withdrawals — and merges any wrapped ACH description lines before export. The summary box is parsed separately so the printed beginning balance, period totals, and ending balance are captured along with the statement dates. Reconciliation then works the same way it always does: beginning balance plus every extracted transaction must equal the printed ending balance. On Capital One statements the totals printed in the summary give us a second, independent check, and any row that throws the math off is reported on the results page rather than smoothed over.
What Capital One gives you natively
Capital One offers a Download Transactions option with CSV output, but it generally covers recent activity rather than full statement history, and as of this writing there is no Excel or QBO export. Older months are available only as PDF statements.

Capital One conversion FAQ
Does Capital One let me download statements as CSV?
Capital One's download covers recent transactions as CSV, not full statement history, and as of this writing there is no Excel or QBO option. For older months the PDF statement is the only source — upload it here and choose whichever format you need.
My Capital One 360 statement has no running balance column. How do you check accuracy?
The section structure gives us each row's sign, and the account summary gives us the printed beginning balance, totals, and ending balance. Beginning balance plus every extracted transaction must equal the printed ending balance, or the difference is flagged. The summary's own deposit and withdrawal totals act as a second check along the way.
How far back can I get Capital One statements?
Capital One typically keeps several years of statements available online as PDFs. Any of them can be converted here, including months well outside the native CSV download window.
Does it work for Capital One business accounts?
Yes. Capital One's business statements follow the same summary-box-plus-sections layout as the 360 consumer format. The same section-aware sign handling and full-statement reconciliation apply.
