How Truist statements are structured
Truist statements — like the BB&T and SunTrust layouts they replaced — are frequently delivered with several accounts stacked into a single PDF, so one download can contain a checking account, a savings account, and a line of credit back to back. Each account block opens with an account summary showing beginning and ending balances, followed by activity grouped into sections like Deposits, Other Credits, Checks, and Other Withdrawals, with single amount columns and check numbers printed beside check amounts. Our engine splits the file at each account summary, then parses every block independently: the section a row falls in determines whether it is a debit or a credit, check numbers are preserved in the description, and wrapped descriptions are merged before export. Because the blocks are independent, each one is reconciled separately against its own printed ending balance, and the results page reports per-account status so a problem in one account does not hide behind clean totals in another. Your converted file comes out organized one account per sheet or per CSV, with no rows mixed across accounts.
What Truist gives you natively
Truist offers transaction downloads in CSV and Quicken/QuickBooks formats for recent activity, generally covering a limited recent window. Older history comes only as PDF statements — often with multiple accounts combined in one file — and there is no native Excel option as of this writing.
Step by step
- Sign in at truist.com and open the account.
- Open Accounts → Statements & documents and choose the statement month.
- Download the PDF — note it may bundle several accounts together.
- Upload it here — each account is split and reconciled separately.
- Download one clean CSV, Excel, or QBO file per account.
Truist conversion FAQ
My Truist PDF contains several accounts. Will they be mixed together?
No. Truist often stacks checking, savings, and credit accounts into one PDF, and we split the file at each account summary. Every account is parsed and reconciled independently, and your download is organized one account per sheet or per CSV.
Does Truist offer CSV downloads?
Truist lets you download recent activity in CSV and Quicken/QuickBooks formats, generally covering a limited recent window. Older statements are PDF-only, and as of this writing there is no Excel export — converting the PDF gets you all three formats.
I still have old BB&T or SunTrust statements. Will those convert?
Generally yes. Those layouts are close relatives of the current Truist format, sectioned the same way, and the parser handles them. Reconciliation runs identically, so if an older layout fails to tie out we flag it rather than pass questionable data through.
How far back can I get Truist statements?
Truist typically keeps several years of statements available online as PDFs. Any of them can be converted here, with per-account reconciliation against each printed ending balance.
