How RBC statements are structured
RBC statements will feel familiar if you have seen a US big-bank statement: an account summary with opening and closing balances, then activity in labeled sections — deposits, withdrawals, and a cheques-paid area — with dates, descriptions, and a single amount column whose direction comes from the section header. Amounts are in Canadian dollars. Two details are worth watching: cheque numbers print beside the amount and need to stay searchable, and Interac e-Transfer descriptions carry sender and reference text that can wrap onto a second line. Our engine assigns debits and credits from the section a row falls in, keeps cheque numbers in the exported description, and merges wrapped e-Transfer lines before export. Reconciliation then runs the standard math: opening balance plus every extracted transaction must equal the closing balance printed in the summary. If the statement's own figures do not line up with what was extracted, the results page reports the exact difference — nothing is rounded away or adjusted quietly. RBC savings and business statements share the same sectioned structure and convert identically.
What RBC gives you natively
RBC lets you download account activity in CSV, Quicken, and QuickBooks formats, typically limited to recent activity rather than full statement history. Older months come as PDF statements, which RBC keeps online for several years on most accounts.

RBC conversion FAQ
Does RBC let me download transactions as CSV or QuickBooks files?
Yes, for recent activity — the download option typically covers recent activity in CSV, Quicken, and QuickBooks formats. Older months are PDF statements only. Upload those PDFs here to get CSV, Excel, or QBO for any month.
Are cheque numbers and Interac e-Transfer details preserved?
Yes. Cheque numbers print beside the amount on RBC statements and are kept in the exported description, so your file stays searchable by number. Long e-Transfer descriptions that wrap onto a second line are merged back into their transaction before export.
Does it work for RBC business accounts?
Yes. RBC business statements share the same summary-plus-sections layout as personal ones. The same section-aware sign handling, cheque-number retention, and beginning-to-ending-balance reconciliation apply.
How far back can I get RBC statements?
RBC typically keeps several years of statements available online as PDFs for most accounts. Any of them converts here, with reconciliation run against the closing balance printed on each statement.
