How Mercury statements are structured

Mercury statements are built for startup bookkeeping: a compact summary at the top shows opening balance, money in, money out, and closing balance, followed by a single continuous transaction table with a date, a description, and a signed amount column. The accounts are business-only, so descriptions skew toward ACH transfers, wires, and card spend rather than checks, though Mercury check payments appear as ordinary debit lines when they occur. Treasury and savings products produce their own statements rather than one combined file, which keeps each document single-account and single-table. Our engine reads the signed amount column directly, merges the rare wrapped wire description, and parses the summary block so the printed opening and closing balances anchor reconciliation. Beginning balance plus every extracted transaction must equal the printed closing balance; if a row is misread, the totals will not tie, and the results page reports the exact difference instead of adjusting anything silently. There is no legacy layout to trip over — Mercury statements are modern and consistent, so conversion is typically the most straightforward of any bank we handle.

What Mercury gives you natively

Mercury lets you export recent account activity to CSV from the dashboard. Monthly statements are PDF-only, and as of this writing there is no native Excel or QBO export — converting the PDF gets you all three formats for any statement period.

Step by step

  1. Sign in at mercury.com and open the account you need.
  2. Go to Statements and select the statement month.
  3. Download the PDF statement to your computer.
  4. Upload it to ReconCSV and choose CSV, Excel, or QBO.
  5. Review the reconciliation result and download the converted file.

Mercury conversion FAQ

Does Mercury offer a CSV download?

Yes — Mercury can export recent account activity to CSV from the dashboard. Monthly statements are PDF-only, and as of this writing there is no Excel or QBO export, so converting the statement PDF is the way to get those formats.

Our accountant wants a QBO file. Can Mercury produce one?

Not natively, as of this writing. Download the monthly statement PDF and convert it here — the QBO output carries dates, descriptions, and signed amounts ready for QuickBooks import, with reconciliation already checked.

Does it work for Mercury Treasury or savings statements?

Yes. Those statements use the same summary-plus-single-table structure as the main checking account. The same parsing path and beginning-to-ending-balance reconciliation apply.

Do long wire and ACH descriptions survive conversion?

Yes. Wire descriptions that wrap onto a second printed line are merged back into their transaction before export, so the full sender and reference text stays on one row in your file.
